Play therapy is a type of counselling for children aged 3 to 12 (approx) using toys and other creative mediums. Adults use words to make sense of their lives and to overcome difficulties that they may be experiencing. Children use their natural medium, play to express themselves.
Play Therapy can be beneficial for children who find it difficult to adjust to life changes such as parental separation or the birth of a new sibling, or more traumatic experiences such as a period of hospitalisation due to an accident, death of a parent or an abusive experience.
